Workshop : "The Intelligent Engineer" - Building AI-Powered Solutions Across Disciplines

The Yantriksha X Hub, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council and the Vel Tech Alumni Association, successfully conducted a one-day workshop titled “The Intelligent Engineer” on Wednesday, July 30, 2025. The event, held at Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr. Sagunthala R&D Institute of Science and Technology, focused on the theme of "Building AI-Powered Solutions Across Disciplines" and was attended by a select group of students due to limited slots.

The workshop, which ran from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., provided a platform for aspiring engineers and innovators to delve into the practical applications of artificial intelligence. The session aimed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to create AI-powered solutions that can be applied across various fields of study.

The insightful session was led by Mr. Barath Kumar D, an Associate Tech Lead at Cognizant, who served as the resource person for the event. Mr. Kumar brought his industry expertise and real-world experience to the workshop, guiding participants through the concepts and methodologies of developing intelligent systems. His instruction was both comprehensive and engaging, offering students a valuable opportunity to learn directly from a professional working at the forefront of technology.

The workshop was a collaborative effort, organized by the Yantriksha X Hub and supported by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, through the Institution’s Innovation Council. This support highlighted the event's alignment with national initiatives to foster innovation and technological literacy among young minds.

The "Intelligent Engineer" workshop concluded as a significant success, leaving participants with a deeper understanding of AI's potential and practical tools to begin building their own solutions.
